UNIQUE COLLECTION OF MANUSCRIPTS
Soon after the establishment of library Bhavan started collecting the ancient and medieval manuscripts.
The library has unique collection of about 1404 Manuscripts in the form of Palm Leafs and Pothis on subjects like :
  • Mysticism,
  • Purana (Mythology)
  • Tattvajnana (Philosophy)
  • Jyotisha (Astrology)
  • Veda
  • Smriti
  • Yoga
  • Kavyashastra (Poetics)
In 1951 Bhavan started the Singhi Oriental Series for the purpose of reading and publication of those manuscripts. So far, 77 titles have been published under that series.

ANCIENT COINS
Library also has a very good Collection of ancient coins.

PAINTINGS
Library also has collection of 116 water-colour miniature paintings of Rajputana and Mughal style.

ANTIQUES & OTHER ARTIFACTS
Library also has collection of ancient bronze, copper plates engravings and other artifacts.

THE UNIQUE MANUSCRIPT
OF MAHABHARATA
This manuscript seems to be from Rajasthan.
It is difficult to determine the exact period of this work.
It is in the form of a big roll of 30 c.m diameter and 15 c.m widths.
It is written on very thin paper and cloth is not lost at all.
The writing is extremely minute. It cannot be deciphered without the help of magnifying glass.
The composition has been enriched with beautiful paintings are illustrative.
To add to the beauty of this work, there appear decorative golden borders on both the sides.
Such innovation in calligraphy is rarely to be found.
This manuscript of Mahabharata is really unique.
